Ban Pen is a renowned tea village located close to the celebrated Ban Zhang tea region, with its ancient tea gardens neighbouring those of Lao Ban Zhang. The two areas share similar growing conditions, giving Ban Pen tea a rich body, strong energy and a long-lasting returning sweetness.

Compared with the powerful and assertive character commonly associated with Ban Zhang tea, Ban Pen offers a gentler and more approachable expression. The initial bitterness is softer and transforms quickly into sweetness, revealing delicate floral aromas, honeyed undertones and a subtle fruitiness. 

After aging since 2017, the tea has developed greater depth and roundness while retaining the freshness and vitality of quality raw Pu-erh. It is an excellent choice for tea drinkers who enjoy the strength and complexity of the Ban Zhang region but prefer a smoother, sweeter and more balanced cup.

Taste: Floral and lightly fruity, with honey sweetness, moderate bitterness and a smooth, substantial body. The bitterness fades quickly, leaving a refreshing mouthfeel and persistent sweet aftertaste.

Brewing Suggestions: 8 grams of tea leaves | 100°C water | Steep for 10 seconds | Re-infuse 8 or more times.
