Gua Feng Zhai Pu Er Tea Map

Origin: Gua Feng Zhai, Yiwu Tea Region, Mengla County, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China

Year: 2010 Harvest

Tea Type: Ancient Tree Raw Pu Er Tea

Tea Code: #916

Profile:

Harvested from ancient tea trees growing deep within the forests surrounding Gua Feng Zhai, this distinguished raw Pu Er embodies the refined sweetness and understated strength for which the Yiwu tea region is celebrated.

Following more than fifteen years of natural ageing, the tea has developed a smooth, substantial liquor with an elegant aged character. Honeyed aromas unfold into layers of dried apricot, sweet herbs, aged wood and gentle forest notes. Its original bitterness and astringency have softened, allowing the tea’s natural sweetness and silky texture to become more prominent.

Taste:
Smooth and honeyed, with notes of dried apricot, wildflowers, sweet herbs and aged wood. The liquor is silky and full-bodied, with restrained bitterness, gentle forest depth and a long-lasting sweet finish.

Brewing Suggestions:
8 grams of tea leaves | 100°C water | Steep for 10 seconds | Re-infuse 6–10 times

Rinse the leaves briefly before the first infusion. Gradually extend the steeping time as the leaves open.

Storage Recommendation:
Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area away from sunlight, moisture and strong odours. Avoid storing Pu Er tea in the kitchen, as tea readily absorbs surrounding aromas.
