Gua Feng Zhai Pu Er Tea Map

Origin: Gua Feng Zhai, Yiwu Tea Region, Mengla County, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China

Year: 2016 Harvest

Tea Type: Ancient Tree Raw Pu Er Tea

Tea Code: #913

Profile:
Gua Feng Zhai is a remote tea-growing village within the renowned Yiwu region, near Yunnan’s border with Laos. Its ancient tea trees grow deep within dense mountain forests, giving the tea its distinctive wild character, elegant fragrance and remarkable depth.

After years of natural ageing, this 2016 raw Pu Er offers a smooth and increasingly rounded liquor. A rich honey fragrance opens into layers of dried stone fruit, sweet herbs and gentle woody undertones. The texture is soft and silky in the classic Yiwu style, yet beneath its delicacy lies a strong, controlled energy.

Subtle bitterness and a light astringency dissolve quickly, revealing a deep returning sweetness and long-lasting throat finish. Each infusion becomes progressively fuller, balancing forest freshness, mature complexity and natural sweetness.

Taste:
Smooth and honeyed, with notes of dried apricot, wildflowers, sweet herbs and soft wood. The liquor is full and silky, with restrained bitterness, a subtle forest character and a deep, lingering sweet finish.

Brewing Suggestions:
8 grams of tea leaves | 100°C water | Steep for 10 seconds | Re-infuse 6–10 times

Rinse the leaves briefly before the first infusion. Gradually extend the steeping time as the leaves open.

Storage Recommendation:
Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area away from sunlight, moisture and strong odours. Avoid storing Pu Er tea in the kitchen, as tea readily absorbs surrounding aromas.
